“Crop me” is a surreal, yet melancholic tune, full of energy and tons of angst

It’s been a busy couple of months for the singer, rapper from Arizona, Baymmack (@bayymack). When we last checked in on Bayymack for this blog, he had most recently released his collaboration with rapper Lil Tracy, titled  “Until i’m gone”. Ever since then, Bayymack’s gone on to do a string of live performances all around the US, and even some spots in Europe alongside a handful of prominent names within the underground. Finally, after a busy first quarter, Bayymack is back in action and his latest single, definitely  proves it.

“Crop me” is a surreal, yet melancholic tune, full of energy and tons of angst. This track takes us right back to where we last left off, showcasing Bayymack’s continuous descent into the sounds of the scenecore subgenre, a sound that has at this point in time become Bayymack’s bread and butter, if you will. Driven entirely by those iconic synth heavy, warbly basslines, and house style drums, Bayymack does his best in creating an atmosphere of emotion via his monotone, almost defeated delivery, and of course, through his writing which comes off as nothing short of dejected. The production (done by pr0xy, and morecalsium), keeps the gloomy overtones flowing perfectly, keeping its brighter synth melodies buried under the pile of wubby bass and eurodance rhythms. Overall, I would describe this as the perfect track to play when you’re down, but wanna dance. With its upbeat tempo, and downtrodden attitude, “crop me,” is the return to form that fans of rave music, and more importantly, fans of Bayymack needed now more than ever.
