KMOE’S NEWEST SINGLE “HOMESICK” IS HERE AND IT IS GREAT

It had been a few months since we'd heard anything new from hyperpop prodigy Kmoe (@kmoethekid), best known for his innovative fusing of different genres with the hyperpop sound. This week we received a brand new single that falls right in line with Kmoe’s prior discography, showcasing Kmoe’s ever-evolving production prowess, as well as his writing and vocal capabilities. “Homesick” is a track that resonated with me lyrically above everything, as we hear Kmoe discuss a feeling of longing for place and time no longer present in his life, speaking directly to the people that inhabited those memories by letting them know that he simply misses them. Kmoe even opens up about the way this longing feeling is affecting his mental health and perception of himself, often opting to stay in on a nice day or feeling guilty for going out on a weekday, some days even choosing to not leave the bed at all. The aspect that really brings it home for me personally is Kmoe’s approach to his vocals, as he really leans into a deeper, and shaky vocal tone that almost makes it sound like he could break down in tears at any point, which is a fitting contrast in comparison to his high-pitched, and energetic approaches previously delivered by him. In terms of production, we continue to hear impressive levels of improvement from the artist, pairing his vocals with high-frequency synths and bass lines that further convey his sense of urgency and unrest. This is a great single for anyone looking to experience a climatic and fully emotional hyperpop tune, and I can’t recommend it enough.
