UNDRGRND STR SHOWCASE: THE JAHZ INTERVIEW

Jahz, congratulations on your latest release, how does it feel to finally have this project out?

Man… excited & relieved is an understatement!

I’ve been working on this project, and holding onto music for awhile, so finally being able to allow the public to enjoy the music & let them see the creative process has been dope

The title, “Blurred Reflection” what, if any, significance does that have not only to you, but to the project as a whole?

I wanted a title that would not only embody each of the songs on the project, but also have a deeper meaning, something that isn’t black & white. Each song is either a story, or personal journey I went on & am reflecting back on throughout the song. Blurred Reflections signifies that we all have things that we ignore, talk down on someone else for, or imperfections we hide. But once we look in that mirror, we realize we’re not as perfect as we thought & we struggle recognizing who we’re looking at, because we don’t see us.

What is the momentum that you are trying to keep in the new year?

Definitely to gain more popularity & fans not only in Chicago, but globally. I believe I have the ability to resonate with people, because not only am I original, but also relatable. I feel like Blurred Reflections was a great starting EP, a project that woke folks up, but I have much more work to do. So to carry the momentum, I plan to put out some singles, and at least two more projects. Each project harder & more advanced than the previous.

When you look at legacy, what is the legacy you want to leave this year?

The legacy I plan to leave this year would be to stay consistent & know that I put my all in every task I do with music. I feel like I have a lot to offer to the music industry & fans of music as a whole, and me consistently putting out my work will of course help me grow as an artist, but also allow others to appreciate the artistry.

What can we expect next from you? Videos, more music or even shows?

What’s in motion now is music videos for sure. Making the songs come to life with visuals that people can watch & follow along with, I personally feel like would only amplify the song & make it that much better.  Would definitely love to perform, I think that will fall in place as my name starts getting around and I put out more music.
