KMOE CONTINUES TO EVOLVE AS HE RELEASES “MY ARMS AGAIN”

This is an interesting one. Canadian hyperpop creative Kmoe (@kmoe) released a new one this week…sorta. So, I was pretty excited to see Kmoe had released something new again so soon (given his previous track record), and on this new one, he’s essentially treating us to a re-work, or a reimagining of his last song “never let you leave”. Funny enough, when I wrote my piece on that song, I had noted that it seemed like Kmoe’s approach was 100% lyric focused, rather than simply showcasing his production skills.

If you know Kmoe’s old discography at all, you know that he used to put a lot more emphasis on his lyrical content, to the point where people saw him solely as a either a hyperpop singer or a glitchcore rapper first and a producer second, which is pretty frustrating given the fact that Kmoe’s a really creative producer. Anyway I say all of that to sort of provide some context as to just why Kmoe works so hard not to be boxed in as an artist. “My arms again” is a fire crossover between the future bass/glitchcore styles, with a healthy sprinkling of drum and bass here and there creating a new and more epic soundscape. The synth work is as usual rich and beautiful, pairing well with the never let you leave vocal, as well as creating an emotional component amongst the hard hitting drums and drops.
