BAYYMACK RETURNS WITH “NIKKI”
Arizona artist Bayymack (@bayymack) makes his return with a brand new and explosive track entitled “Nikki”. On Nikki we see Bayymack expand his sound once again, delving deeper into the hyperpop style that the artist has been introducing to his catalog over the past year. To me, this track shines best through its writing, as Bayymack expertly manages to convey a message that is ultimately relatable as well as personal, delivering lines about loneliness, desperation, and doubt. Nikki also shines through its production, with its heavy bass lines, beautiful synth arrangements, and especially through its fun, and extremely upbeat drum patterns that manage to keep the energy high, while offering a nice contrast to the darker aesthetic presented by the track’s lyrical content. Finally, the track’s mixing does it a great favor by giving an interesting edge to Bayymack’s vocal performance, with its smooth vocal glitches, distortion, and stutters, which is very much on brand for the hyperpop genre. Bayymack is set to release a full-length project soon, and if this is the direction he plans to take for the project’s sound, I for one am very excited to hear it!
