CALIFORNIA ARTIST, KOI, RELEASES HIS NEWEST SINGLE “PRICE HIGH”
California creative Koi (@ripcoye) blesses us with some brand new heat this week, through the release of his latest single, “price high”. For those familiar with Koi’s catalog, you’ll be pleased to hear that Koi keeps it fresh on this one, opting for a more aggressive production style, nicely emphasized by its trap-like high hat pattern that takes center stage. Underneath the aggressive percussion, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find a soul sample playing the main melody role to a nice and subtle result. As per usual, Koi does his thing vocally, keeping up his classic balance of melodic rap, building a flow pattern that is both catchy and technical. Although flaunting his material worth isn’t anything to Koi’s music, it seems he’s somehow managed to outdo himself by delivering some of his most braggadocious bars about expensive clothes, cars, and women…especially expensive women. This is a fun one, technically nothing we haven’t already heard Koi do, but I like the combination of the production and the given subject matter, it seems really appropriate if you ask me.
