zac greer comes hitting hard
Let’s talk about a recent release by one of my favorite bedroom pop artists, Zac Greer (@Zacgreer). Late last month Zac gave us one of the funkiest cuts that I’ve heard in all of underground music, through his release of “dontletmego,” his latest single which sees him taking on some incredibly smooth production. The moment I heard this song I was slightly taken aback by what I was hearing. Just moments into the track you get a real daft punk/michael Jackson kind of intro, complete with dark bass tones, and tight sounding drums that will have you ready to move. Just when you’re starting to get into the dark groove that the intro provides, it all switches up, and you’re just consumed by the bright, colorful synths, as well as Zac himself who joins along to create a truly explosive transitional point. Zac Greer clearly knew what a gem this production style was, and I can tell he did his best to let it shine as much as it could, chiming in when he can, while still managing to match the bright, and up beat, energy that this track provides. This track is great if you like a disco meets pop sort of vibe, also I can tell you that you’ll probably end up sticking around just for the tones that Zac himself brings to the table, It’s just a vibe.
