MIK IVY’S “CRUSHED VELVET” IS HERE
With summer coming to a close end, crushed velvet is here to be your end of the summer anthem. London based artist Mik Ivy delivers a uptempo love song with his latest release. One of the main things that stood out to me on this release was Mik’s delivery on his verses and the arrangement of the instrumental. Both work hand In hand, allowing Ivy to deliver some of the deeper lyrics while the music is at its most bare and then when the hook comes in, so does the rest of the instrumental. Ivy’s use of harmonies and vocal layering really adds to the ambience of the track and just makes the whole song a super fun listen. The overall aesthetic that is presented really drives of a nostalgic feel while also allowing for a more modern twist and Ivy's personal style to shine through
