GREEK’S NEWEST ALBUM IS FINALLY HERE
Greek (@idkgreek), the king of alt R&B himself, has finally delivered his debut album “EXTC” and I am ecstatic about it. I finally had a chance to give this nine-track project the full attention it deserves, and now that I have, I can safely say that I’m pleasantly delighted with what the artist has given us. So many cuts on “EXTC” start off as these very chill, often lowkey pieces of music, that unravel as they progress into what I can only describe as elegant, and intensely cinematic, featuring the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. That being said, this project’s stand-out feature is hands down its production quality, fully spearheaded by Greek himself, which is evident in how well it compliments his mellow vocal performance style. My personal favorite moment on this project comes via our opening track “lovers&friends” which not only features an extremely upbeat and fun vocal performance but instantly gives you a taste of that phenomenal production quality. Through its opening string arrangements, to the synth bassline that completely drives the track just before it divulges right back into that lush and cinematic style as a breakdown/outro. Greek even includes two tracks that fans will instantly recognize as his most recent singles, “hmu” and “safety” which were perfectly woven into the album in the right moments, really showing the attention to detail Greek has given even the tracklist order. Greek always finds a way to outdo himself, and this project has shown us exactly what kind of creative he is, one that is rare and careful with the process and delivery that goes into every detail. I can’t recommend this project more than I already have, and you should definitely give it your time of day, I can promise you’ll love it!
