Mel debut project, “fOR MELanin giRLiEs” is a must listen

Ghanaian sound engineer and multi-instrumentalist Mēl has released her debut project, "fOR MELanin giRLiEs" (FMG), aimed at promoting creative collaboration among women in music. This project is a step towards uniting creatives in Ghana and the diaspora to discuss important yet often overlooked topics affecting women in a patriarchal society.

FMG explores themes of community building, abuse, self-love, and breaking free from societal pressures. The project features artists such as Ria Boss, Seyyoh (of SuperJazzClub), Darkua, Sofie, KiKi Celine, Sh3lter, Ms Fu, Haeven, and Rie Osei. This project is filled with such powerful songs and messages while also providing such an amazing listen sonically and vocally.

Produced and A&R'd by Mēl, FMG aims to provide a platform for women artists to express themselves on issues they care about deeply.
