Here’s a cool little track. Rapper, singer, songwriter, Voda Fuji (@vodafuji) dropped a new single for us this week titled “Geek”. If you’re familiar with his catalog, or at least his most popular music, you know that this single sounds a little different, opting out from the bright and up tempo production style that we typically hear him use, in favor of a darker and more “lowkey” sounding sound. Voda matches the production quite well I would say, still utilizing his more melodic qualities, while keeping an emphasis on his lyrical/rapping abilities. Other than that, I think Voda just sounds like he’s having fun flexing his pen by coming up with cool one liners, and keeping his cool factor by rapping. On “Geek” Voda refers to a girl’s boyfriend as a “dork” and ponders why he still doesn’t have a chance with her given the fact that he’s “Geeking every night”. Yes, it’s not Kendrick level wordplay, but it’s fun, whitty, and most importantly, fun to listen to. Go give “Geek” by Voda Fuji a spin today!
