Koi knows how to keep his audience well fed As he RELEASES a new single
It’s been a great year to be a fan of the Los Angeles rapper and singer, Koi (@ripcoye), because one thing about Koi is that he knows how to keep his audience well fed. The past three years alone have seen Koi release multiple full length albums, eps, and of course the monthly singles to hold us over until the next project. Lately Koi’s been hinting at another full length project via social media, and you can definitely feel the album cycle beginning to manifest right before us through the few singles that he’s given us within the last two months, and it’s looking pretty promising. One thing that I talked about the very last time that I wrote about Koi’s music, is that I was very much hoping that Koi’s looking towards reinventing himself a little more with his next couple of projects and while I did love that fact that he gave us some variation through his beat sections, I was left yearning for more introspection from the artist. I say all of that, only to say that I’m very much enjoying this latest single and that Koi’s next album already feels extremely promising. Personally I’m very fond of when an artist teams up with one, or multiple specific producers to keep their sound consistent. On his last album, Koi brought on producers like Oliver Easton, quintuple, Silo and a few others, but this time around, Koi is teaming up with a producer by the name of Dylvinci (@dylvinci) to keep things exciting and more than anything, fresh. In my opinion, this song works because Dylvinci came with some fire production, and Koi simply matched it with his writing, and especially his energy. It’s not easy to balance the bars with the singing, but Koi simply delivers both and it pays off. So, if you’re a fan of great writing, structure, and production, then this is the song for you.
