Grete’s first solo debut,“With u”, is a hybrid of a few different popular styles, including RnB, jazz and pop, akin to influences such as Yebba and Maro. The song is a heartfelt ballad in which the protagonist is comparing their current life to a previous time. More specifically, missing the days before a relationship when one could be independent and free to feel however they want. The smooth intro of the Song really helps set the entire mood for the rest of the listen. This truly feels like we are listening to Grete for the first time and seeing what her vision is. When the climax of the song enters, the drums just hit the right spot and bring everything together.
