STRS SHOWCASE : KIRAN THE NOMAD

Fresh off the release of an incredible project, we take a some time and talk to the Houston artist Kiran The Nomad about “Woes on Wax” and more!

Kiran, Congratulations on such a great project, how are you feeling in the post-release moments

Feeling really happy about it and proud of how far we've come. Always looking to what's next but this album forced me to stay in the moment.

What type of growth have you seen between "nights before the part" and "Woes on Wax"

just self development honestly, I grew up a lot and I think there's a new depth on this new album.

What was the goal for this project if any, and do you think you accomplished that?

I wanted to time stamp where I'm at in life; the beats, the reflection, the song style was all done intentionally because I wanted to accurately portray where I am in life right now.

While creating this project, what were some of the ups and downs during the process?

Just getting the entire thing done, especially at the end... it got kind of tedious. I'm a perfectionist and there's no such thing as a perfect song but I definitely tried my best to execute things how I wanted. The highs were the sessions and performing some of the songs before they were released.

What do you want your listener to get out of this album?

Just to reflect, look in the mirror or think about stuff that's happened in their own lives. I kinda wanted this to play as background music, nothing too crazy or upbeat just some really solid vibes people could put on whenever they want to.

Which song was your favorite to make and favorite to listen?

My favorite song to make was That's Life! My favorite song to listen to is probably Mile A Minute!

Going forward, what is next for Kiran?

a lot of singles, a transition sonically and hopefully Nights Before Party Vol. 3
