LET KWAME ADU TAKE YOU ON A JOURNEY.
Rapper Kwame Adu debuts with "Shinji's Album", a great journey through struggle, self reflection, family and more. Lasting a short yet impactful 9 songs, Kwame is able to build a very cohesive and complex project with skits, reoccurring themes and sounds, and great lyricism and production. Each song compliments the next, taking some sort of element from the prior into the next helping bridge the gap between the set and helping maintain a sense of familiarity. While Kwame released a single for this project, I refrained from listening to it too much because I wanted to be able to experience it in the way it was meant to and I sure am glad I did. From a production standpoint, each song has a great blend of synths and more grounded elements, helping create a really beautiful contrast. My favorite track by far would be “Can You See The Moon” but each song offers such a great experience.
