TEXAS ARTIST GGRI$H IS MAKING HIS VOICE HEARD
Today I wanna highlight someone that I found within the past few months who goes by the name of GGRI$H (@slidin4you), hailing all the way from the west Texas town of El Paso Texas. I found GGRI$H through a mutual friend who had put me on to the artist’s Instagram page, which promptly featured new music by GG himself, and enjoying what I heard, I had to tap in. Earlier this week GGRI$H released his latest single “LETTER 2 MY CITY,” a club style anthem that serves as a perfect introduction for new listeners of the creative. I can safely say that this track exceeded my expectations as a new listener myself, creating a fun and bounce driven atmosphere that’s full of melody and tons of heart. The melodic aspect of the track is exactly what drew me towards this one, as the vocal performance is collected, focused, and for most part creative, only falling flat in the way that I wish we had received more tonal variation, but that’s honestly just a knit pick. Production on this track is fitting as well, as the hard hitting drums and subtle piano melody create that bounce and overall club nature that I touched on previously. Being an El Paso native myself, It seems most artists from here lead with the same sentiment expressed thematically by GGRI$H through the track, which is one of “running the city,” ultimately having this single serve as a type of notice to everyone living in El Paso. I fairly enjoyed the latest single and urge you to go support this young creative at once!
