“YOU & MYSELF” SHOWS BAYYMACK DELIVERING A BEAUTIFUL SONG

Arizona artist Bayymack (@bayymack) has been on a hot streak for a while now, consistently pushing his string of unique visuals, sounds, and even live events. Just the other day Bayymack took to social media to announce the release of a new single and music video that would release shortly, and while I always tune in, I honestly didn’t expect this drop to be anything out of the ordinary for the creative’s catalog, but boy was I wrong. Today’s single in question is titled “you and myself,” a heartbreakingly beautiful cut that may serve as a strong launching point for Bayymack’s career this year. What this track lacks in incredibly hyper, distorted vocals and production, it makes up for through its somber atmosphere and honest delivery. This track truly excels in its contents, where we hear Bayymack discuss feelings of alienation, suicide, escapism, and even his attempts to cope with the loss of his father earlier in his life. This song has quickly become a new favorite of mine thanks to its ability to open up the artist in a brand new way, and although off first listen, the often confusingly written lyrics may throw you off, the ending honestly ties everything all together kinda nicely. From a production standpoint it’s fairly simple but effective, opting for a more stripped back alternative rock like sound with no percussion, which allows for an incredibly authentic delivery and performance. Personally I find this song very charming despite its very serious topics, and I'm sure anyone who can relate will find this track to be cathartic in a way. I hope that Bayymack revisits this sound every so often.
