TAKE A RIDE WITH CONTRADASH’S NEWEST SINGLE “ROOM NUMBER”
Putting the spotlight on a song from the artist contradash (@contradash) that just barely escaped me last week as the year came to a close. In a move that I would consider bold, the digicore creative decided to give us one final track for the year titled, “room number,” a track about the ever relatably hidden joys and excitement that come from being lost in a luxurious five star hotel. All humor aside, this track excels in its writing, as contradash addresses a person who I can only assume is a romantic partner, ultimately admitting that he’s forgotten what room they were staying in, and is currently roaming around the hotel aimlessly. It’s sort of funny the way he tells this story, as I'm constantly unsure if he’s feeling anxious over the fact that he’s lost, or if he’s secretly excited about the fact, despite him stating otherwise. From a production standpoint we get a chill, yet uptempo beat that is driven by its bassline and kick drum pattern, ultimately setting up contradash for a cool and collected delivery. Vocally, contradash sounds as sharp as ever, creating an exciting chorus that’s rich in harmony, and energy alike. I’m not gonna lie, this was a fun one from contra, and i’m really happy he put it out when he did, go give it your full attention!
