“NERVE” IS THE NEWEST ENTRY FROM KMOE

I’ve been enjoying Kmoe’s (@kmoethekid) latest musical entries a whole lot. It really feels like he’s figured his sound and style out completely. For a while I was slightly worried that Kmoe would abandon the hyper-sentimental inclinations that made his music feel most relatable, in favor of the more polished and heavily produced electronic sound that he has also adopted through his entire musical career. It seems that Kmoe has found a very good middle place for his sound, by creating music that is both as honest as it is undeniable, as vulnerable as it is technically impressive, and this is the exact space where his latest song “nerve” lies today.

Through the large and emotive production, Kmoe tells a tale of pain and isolation, one of betrayal and guilt, in part thanks to someone that you can interpret as “close to Kmoe’s heart”. It’s a song about trying hard, and falling just as hard, as a relationship crumbles, communication seizes, and loneliness sets in. From a production standpoint, we hear an edm base, thanks to the bouncy synths, that are then mixed with the vintage styled pop drums that are soaked in gated reverb. It’s a very good track, albeit, a sad one at that from a thematic perspective, but one that you gotta go check out!
