KMOE SHINES ON “NEVER LET YOU LEAVE”
Canadian hyperpop sensation Kmoe (@kmoe) delivered his second single of the year last night entitled “never let you leave,” a lowkey pop song that’s anything but boring. Taking a deeper look into Kmoe’s most recent releases, has been a little all over the place from a thematic standpoint, and especially production wise, but nothing quite sounds like what he’s given us on never let you leave. The production choice to go fully with a four on the floor drum style, meets funky bass guitar is one that I consider very refreshing for Kmoe’s sound, not only is it exciting, and fun to move to, but it also does an adequate job of being lowkey when it needs to be, giving the vocals and writing enough room to do their thing without stealing the spotlight. I really enjoy Kmoe’s vocal performance on this one, as it shows just how well he’s gotten at manipulating his own voice through his engineering, as well as knowing where to take his delivery so that it better lends itself to the track. Thematically we get a very passionate Kmoe who writes about wanting to savor every moment he has with his partner, using slightly clingy language that should make the listener feel some longing for affection. Overall, it’s just an extremely cute, to the point track that expresses the extreme emotions that overtake when romance is in the air, and it feels like love is the only answer, making it truly impossible to let them leave.
